Canary Islands - The Canaries

The Canary Islands are located in the North Atlantic about 1,300 km southwest of the Spanish mainland.  There are seven main islands and several tiny ones.

The Canaries have been a popular vacation destination for decades due to wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and political stability.

La Palma Island is relatively quiet, very scenic and features some wonderful architecture.  It's a great place to relax.

Tenerife Island is the largest and most populated island.  It is home to a snow-capped volcano and some stunning mountain scenery.

Gran Canaria Island is a popular destination featuring big city attractions and beautiful sandy beaches. Las Palmas is the largest city in the Canaries.

Fuerteventura Island is the second largest island in the Canary Archipelago.  It enjoys a warm, dry climate due to its proximity to the Sahara Desert.
